The father of positive psychology, Martin Seligman postulates “ … a flow state becomes an alternate path to mastery without misery” now tell me who wouldn’t want that?!?!
Engaging in the Flow state has allowed me to personally meld with the present moment (free from the past) and be open to creativity, imagination, and wisdom rather than chasing goals or a specific result. For me that meant leaving a 10-year relationship with domestic violence, holding my abusers accountable, finding love, losing love, loving myself, discovering myself, creating a new career and raising an awesome teenaged musician.
I started at the beginning – a virtual rebirth if you will – by learning to breathe. I know it sounds quirky but indulge me here …. instead of the optimal 6 breaths we are pulling anywhere from 16 - 20 breaths/minute. Over breathing causes an imbalance in oxygen/carbon dioxide exchange depriving cells of the required oxygen and this in effect makes your cells sick. In turn an imbalance in your life!
This was a natural progression of transformation, focusing on being mindful. This is how I am successful in every aspect of my life, specially during the uncertainty of the pandemic. This gradual transformation has created self-adherence without resistance, clarity, boundless opportunities, and joy.
We do not control our lives we simply ride the flow wave of our lives. We get ourselves tuned up with the frequency of our surroundings while establishing a crucial anchored sensation – the flow. This is the natural rhythm essential for elevating and achieving a deeper intensity.
What would it mean to you to fall in love with yourself? To be a part of something larger than yourself?
