Hit Every Goal in 2022

There's more that goes into achieving body goals than ramping up your exercise and counting macros. The following are expert approved tips to first get to the root of making the change, and then crushing every physique goal you have your heart set on.

Find Your Why

Not having clarity on why you are embarking on your fitness journey in the first place is one of the biggest mistakes you can make. Starting a program is exciting in the beginning, but after a few weeks (and that's optimistic), the novelty wears off.

Identifying "why" is the reason you're more likely to stick to your plan, remain focused, and ultimately achieve your goal.

There is a caveat though, your first response to asking yourself "why" is likely not what's really deep-rooted and in your soul - you will have to dig a little deeper and do the work.

Focus on Adding Instead of Eliminating

Eating is an essential component in achieving your body goals. The goal is to eat wholefood sources that are high in micronutrients and low in processing. However, you do not have to cut out an entire food group to make healthy choices. When you tell yourself you can't or shouldn't have something, it makes you want it more, and in return, you'll feel deprived.

Instead of eliminating foods you love, top your pizza with tons of veggies, or add a serving of lean protein to your midnight snack.

Additionally, eat slowly - with no distractions - so you can pay attention to your sensations of hunger and fullness, creating a more intentional mindset overall.

Find Exercise That Moves You

Find enjoyable ways to move your body throughout the day. Shift the focus from losing weight or extreme exercise to the pleasure of being able to move your body. Dance, skip, run or shake your tail feather.

Focus on short consistent workouts rather than long, inconsistent ones. If you're short on time and want to create fat-burning and muscle-building workouts, focus on Peripheral Heart Action (PHA training) workouts, which combine strength and cardiovascular training. Your body will have direct blood flow to different muscle groups throughout the workout, which have a powerful impact on the intensity and your overall fitness.

Regardless of which eating plan you chose to follow, you must prioritize your goal with your "why," do the hard work (its not easy, after all), and stay consistent.

Consistency and incremental changes over time will get you the results you want and deserve, while developing a lasting change that will support and benefit your body and mind.
